The global health harms of fossil fuels are well documented and this year's festival is Klimakulturs way of introducing the topic to everyone interested, giving space to courageous voices that dares to counter the narratives and disinformation presented by the fossil fuel industry.
Erlend Eggen, co-founder Klimakultur says:
“We are thrilled to present Petrogandafestivalen 2026. The first petroganda festival took place in Oslo in 2025 and was a huge success. This time we are moving the festival to Stavanger, and that is no coincidence. That week the global oil industry is gathering there for one of the world's largest industry events, ONS. Klimakultur wants to present a programme that represents nature, the future for our planet and the coming generations.”
With Petrogandafestivalen we want to support grassroots movements, community building and voices truly needed in a petrostate like Norway. We want Klimakultur to create spaces like this for artists, researchers, journalists, climate workers, health professionals and activists.
Julie Forchhammer, co-founder Klimakultur says:
“We are very excited to present some of the most influential and leading experts on topics rarely discussed in Norway. The deadly impacts of fossil fuels are not part of the narrative here. Countering the petroganda presented by industry and society requires both knowledge and courage.”
To achieve a phase out of fossil fuels we need to celebrate the courage of those leading the way. Klimakultur are excited to present this year's speakers at Petrogandafestivalen.
